Important Notice Mr. Fesler will be meeting with parents to collect medications for the trip Monday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m. Please have the correct dosage of medicine from Wednesday evening thru Friday evening for your child. I would also like to get a count of parents that will be traveling with us to Austin on the bus and/ or parents traveling to watch the competition. Please email Mr. Fesler or talk to him Monday at 5:30 p.m. The students will need to have money for 5 meals (2 lunches and 3 dinners) during the trip. A continental breakfast will be provided at the hotel on Thursday and Friday morning. Students may want to bring money for souvenirs that are available at the exhibit hall.

The Cinco Ranch HS Drumline will participate in the 2008 Percussive Arts Society International Convention Marching Percussion Festival to be held on November 5 through 7 in Austin, Texas.  This Percussion Convention is the largest in the world and will offer great opportunities for us to learn about all facets of percussion from around the world with concerts, clinics, and exhibits. The PASIC convention was held in 2006 in Austin and we had a blast as we took a percussion group from CRHS to participate.

 

This Drumline trip is a special opportunity for us that will probably not be available in the future. This will be the last year for the convention to be held in Austin, Texas as the Percussive Arts Society will move the annual convention to Indianapolis, Indiana, the site of its new headquarters.

4:30-5 p.m. Run through PASIC show
5 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Load Percussion on trucks
5:30-6 p.m. Leave for Austin (fast food dinner in route)
10 p.m. Arrive to Austin and check in hotel

Thurs. Nov. 6
5:30 a.m. Wake Up and eat breakfast 
7 a.m. Leave hotel for Austin Convention Center
7:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Register for PASIC and attend concerts, clinics, and exhibits (Austin Convention Center)

7:30 a.m.-8 a.m. Check out of hotel and leave for the convention center
9 a.m. Check in for the High School Marching Percussion Festival
9 a.m.-10a.m. Unload truck and warm up in parking lot
10 a.m.-10:30a.m. Change into uniforms
10:30 a.m. Transition to performance area
11:23 a.m. CINCO RANCH DRUMLINE PERFORMS AT PASIC
12:30 p.m. CINCO RANCH CYMBAL LINE PERFORMS AT PASIC
