This performing group is for the more advanced student who exhibits a superior attitude and competency as a musician.
Students are expected to take
private lessons and try out for TMEA Region bands and the UIL
Solo and Ensemble contest.
When marching season is completed,
after-school section and full-band rehearsals will begin. A section rehearsal will occur once a week after school, and lasts one hour.
Full band rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m.
Auditions for Wind Ensemble will be held
before each semester. Auditions are based on the following criteria:
- Report card grades
- Behavior and attitude
- Practice habits
- UIL-prescribed
instrumentation (section size)
- Band rehearsal/performance
attendance
- Tryout music performance
